Being coupled with Chinese education reform, ASSNU came into being in 2000. It is a school with a unitary multi-media education system of primary school, middle school and high school with advanced classes, regular classes and classes for boarding students and day students.
         ASSNU is carried out a management system of headmaster responsibility to the Board, Xia Min, vice-president of SNU takes the post of the chairman of the Board of Directors at the Affiliated School. Liu Guili, vice-president of SNU, with a math education master degree, appointed by examination and selection among many candidates within Liao Ning province holds the post of headmaster at ASSNU. There are 36 teaching classes here.

        There are two teaching buildings, a library building, a dining hall and dorm, a lecture hall and a lab building with computer rooms, language labs, physics labs, biology labs, chemistry labs, nature science labs, dancing rooms, painting room and so on in the Affiliated Scholl. All the same time, teachers and students here have the right to share the facilities such as library, Gym, meeting room of the SNU with the university students. The students with financial needs and students with high academic achievement have chances to be rewarded sholarship by the concerned departments of the SNU.
